FAA-certified aviators pilot a four-seat plane over the Big Easy’s downtown draws and stunning swamplands during intimate aerial tours for two. Airborne pairs enjoy a new perspective from above the spotlighted Superdome to the historic French Quarter, which hugs the twisty Mississippi River. During each 30-minute flight—which includes taxi to and from the runway—Flight Academy of New Orleans’s knowledgeable guides talk about the city’s cultural and historical touchstones. Flights are conducted daily from 8 a.m. to 5:15 p.m., and flights that are canceled because of poor weather conditions will be rescheduled for a later date. Participants of the flight courses also receive a Pilot Handbook and fill out their first flight log.
Each of the three flight lessons in the Fundamentals of Flying package includes one hour of ground instruction and one hour of flight instruction in a C152. All of these hours can be applied toward a private pilot rating if you decide to continue your training. Participants also receive a Flight Maneuvers Handbook and fill out their first flight log.
