The Scouting Report

Entering the 2013 season, most WNBA fans knew Elena Delle Donne would be a good player—she was the second overall pick in April's draft, after all. But just two months into her pro career, Delle Donne has exceeded all expectations, capturing the attention of fans across the country with a historic rookie campaign. In fact, she received more votes for the All-Star game than any other player or hot dog vendor—the first rookie in WNBA history to ever hold such sway in the ballot.

A stat sheet that features nearly 20 points and six rebounds per game has done more than propel Delle Donne to individual stardom—it's also helped the Sky ascend to the top of the Eastern Conference standings. When the team returns from the All-Star break, it will continue to battle for its first-ever playoff appearance during five August match-ups at Allstate Arena, including a showdown against the Western Conference-leading Lynx on August 11.

Chicago Sky

The 'K' of the Chicago Sky's logo towers above the other letters, two thin prongs poking out from the top—a nod to the most famous of the city's iconic buildings. Fittingly inspired by the Chicago skyline, the Sky's uniforms have represented the Windy City since 2006. In those years, some of the WNBA's top players have donned the blue and yellow threads, including Candice Dupree, Epiphanny Price, and Sylvia Fowles—a defensive star who also wore red, white, and blue in London in 2012. In 2010, the Sky transitioned from the UIC Pavilion to a new, permanent home court, packing its neatly folded coaches into suitcases and moving to the Allstate Arena in Rosemont.
