Wine tasting is available for an additional $2 per person. Children younger than 12 are admitted for free.

Hosted by Heart of Virginia Wine Trail, the April Fool's Wine Festival takes place at the James River Cellars Winery in Glen Allen and brings together other vintners, such as Cooper, Grayhaven, James River Cellars, Weston Farms, Mattaponi Winery, and Lake Anna. From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday, visitors can sample varietals alongside foot-truck eats from the likes of Boka and Gregory's Grill as they mingle with craft vendors. Visitors are also encouraged to set up picnics during the event and take in the live sounds of Rockfish Willie on Saturday and Reunion Virginia on Sunday.

Heart of Virginia Wine Trail

Heart of Virginia Wine Trail honors its home state by guiding guests through four wineries—James River Cellars, Cooper Vineyards, Lake Anna Winery, and Grayhaven Winery. The wine ambassadors proffer passports that award patrons tastings at each of the wineries and encourage them to enjoy the scenic countryside while navigating the path in between. Both regular tastings and special events typically include food pairings and a chance to talk to knowledgeable enophiles.
