Holy Grounds Coffee & Tea

There's a little bit of magic at Holy Grounds Coffee & Tea. Aside from having its own creation myth, and a halo-like golden starburst that visitors love to pose with, it invites guests to lose themselves in fragrant steam and sparkling gardens. On the patio, they nestle into a green tangle of flowers and trees, sipping as fairy lights twinkle and a stone fountain babbles. Inside, colorful mosaics and textiles surround guests as they quell food and drink cravings with help from community purveyors. The guava cheesecakes are from El Aguila, whose bakers grafted an oven onto a guava-tree branch. The coffee cakes are from Homeboy Bakery, and the loose-leaf teas are brought in by Create Your Own Health. The beans are roasted in L.A. and hail from Antigua Coffee House, a family-operated grower and roaster that's been keeping Californians awake since 1865.
