Legacy Golf Performance Center

As an instructor at Legacy Golf Resort, Mitch McDowell boasts mastery over two areas of the game that, for the amateur, are often at odds. Ask any weekend warrior what part of their golf game they'd love to improve, and distance will probably be at the top of the list, ahead of more sobering skills such as accuracy, putting, and basic stroke addition. Many would be asking a lot to possess anything approaching Mitch's ability to produce the long ball: he has ranked in the top 20 longest hitters in the world and has won more than 25 long-drive competitions.

Of course, chasing power alone can have a negative effect on the rest of your game; one can't step up to every shot and swing with all their might. Luckily, Mitch is able to reign in his sheer force when the situation calls for it, unlike the Rock. He's played on three pro tours in his career, including the Gateway and Pepsi tours, and now teaches players to practice for power while also minding the fundamentals, such as course management and short-game skills.
