$45 for Six-Week Beginning Art Photography Course ($150 Value)

During the six-week course, the class ventures out into the world for hands-on experience, and in-class sessions illuminate the basics of composition, motion, and light, using digital SLR or 35mm film cameras. Classes take place Mondays from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. for ages 14 and older, with class sizes ranging up to 15 people. Students must bring their own cameras, while class materials are provided.

At Monretro, photographers distill the aesthetic sensibilities of aspiring starlets into distinctive images and help business owners sum up their endeavors visually. A fire for art, sisterhood, and entrepreneurship burns within the designers and shutterbugs, who snap headshots of actresses or revamp logos and business cards. During photography classes, the teachers introduce students to the camera features and principles of composition such as the rule of thirds or the rule of every dog wearing a bandana.
