Choose from Three Options

  • $39 for four weeks (12 hours) of Spanish classes (a $180 value)
  • $59 for six weeks (18 hours) of Spanish classes (a $270 value)
  • $75 for eight weeks (24 hours) of Spanish classes (a $360 value)

Following an optional initial consultation that places each student in an appropriate beginner, intermediate, or advanced class, four to eight students immerse themselves in the Spanish language during 90-minute group classes scheduled twice a week. In-person students get up to three hours of free parking at Horton Plaza nearby; online classes may also be available. Classes are scheduled on a group level—once the first class begins, the next session for that level does not begin for another four to eight weeks.

Philolingua Language School

Barcelona-born Philolingua Language School founder Jordi Lluch knows what it's like to learn a foreign language. After extensive linguistics studies and more than 23 years teaching six languages through Berlitz language school's various locations, Lluch established Philolingua. Throughout his years as both student and teacher, he worked to synthesize a learning approach that would mimic the way children pick up their first language: hearing it spoken, responding back, and getting a feel for grammar through intensive practice. The school's resulting approach aims to quickly establish fluency and build practical vocabulary. Using an intuitive, conversational style, a foreign-born instructor shares native speaking skills for real-life situations, such as asking for directions or demanding an entree not listed on a menu.
