$99 for a Six-Course Farm-to-Table Tasting Menu for Two, plus Bubbly

West Town

Chef Bryan Moscatello is no stranger to praise. Food & Wine named him one of the best new chefs in 2003, and the applause has continued to mount over the last decade. At the Michelin-recommended Storefront Company, which opened in March 2012, Moscatello draws his inspiration and ingredients from the farm, then composes contemporary American dishes that the Chicago Tribune's "excellent" three-star review called “easily accessible yet highly creative." Today’s Reserve selection invites you to experience his mastery firsthand with the following dinner for two:

Although the tasting menu changes frequently as new produce comes into season, Chef Moscatello always manages to surprise the palate. A recent menu included squash blossom with scallop, truffle, and cauliflower, as well as lamb neck with tart cherries, spring onions, and chive blooms. (Vegetarian requests can be accommodated when making a reservation.) Meals conclude with a creation by pastry chef Kymberli DeLost, who won over Serious Eats with a complex dessert that they deemed a “playground of chocolate.”

The meal includes two glasses of sparkling wine, chosen to pair with the first course—possibly cava, prosecco, asti, or champagne. However, an entire drink menu tempts diners with its curated selection of wines, craft beers, and signature cocktails. To best complement Chef Moscatello’s cuisine, Storefront Company’s sommelier hand-selected bottles from boutique producers in every hemisphere.

Located within North Avenue’s iconic Flat Iron building, the restaurant surrounds guests with a mixture of modern and classical furnishings. Commissioned artwork also appears throughout the main dining room, including a massive mixed-media mural that incorporates dried flowers and, if you search for long enough, a portrait of Waldo.
