Once installed on their steeds, riders take to the ring for a 15-minute introduction that knuckles down on riding basics. Guides then escort groups of about four riders onto trails that meander through more than 100 acres along the scenic Poquoson River. Beginners can opt for parade-speed saunters, and advanced riders can trot and canter to the head of the class.
