  • Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5:30 p.m. in Des Moines
  • Tuesdays and Thursdays at 4:45 p.m. in Waukee

Meeting twice weekly for eight weeks, Aim High classes—valid for students of all ages—begin Friday, June 14. Students take part in weekly fitness tests, learn about healthy nutritional choices, and learn the basics of tae kwon do. Students finish the program with a promotion to the next belt level and a celebratory graduation party. A uniform is included.

With an extensive background in tae kwon do, Lance Farrell knows how to take down opponents. Fortunately, his experience as an instructor helps him teach others to do the same. At Farrell's U.S. Martial Arts & Fitness, students of all ability levels immerse themselves in the world of Korea's most famous martial art, mastering graceful kicks and strikes while internalizing tenets such as courtesy, integrity, and self-control. Along the way, they also learn valuable self-defense skills, strengthen muscles and minds, and even hone leadership abilities through in-class cooperation. All of this training doesn't go unnoticed; students who show promise and progress may find themselves on the path towards life as one of the school's black belts.
