Excellent restaurant We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner and thanks to the chef who we had an opportunity to meet, David Kazembe. He prepared us excellent dishes including delicious prawns. I and my wife never liked prawns until the ones he prepared for us. The restaurant is covid compliant and follow rules to the letter. Very safe restaurant and with proper seating. It also has a very good view of the outside. We parked in the hotel premises and we can only thank the hotel for the excellent hospitality.

Okay for a night This hotel is okay if you want a quick pit stop in Basingstoke, although having been to Basingstoke now, I wonder why anyone would want to. We stayed for two nights because we'd booked to go to CarFest. Obviously that was cancelled but we came for the weekend anyway. The room was nice enough and the bed comfortable, but it was small and not any better than a Travelodge (which might have been cheaper and better organised. Due to Covid restrictions there wasn't a lot to do. The bar and restaurant were closed, which was irritating when we arrived quite late and could have done with somewhere to sit and chill with something to eat and a drink. In fact, the whole of Basingstoke seemed to close down at 9 o'clock. We also had to order breakfast in advance and this was pre-prepared and came out to us on a tray. This mean if we were slightly late down our food was less that full heat. We'd been in other hotels during August and they all seemed to be managing to cope with Covid restrictions a lot better than this one.

Short Getaway Very good value for a short stay in Basingstoke. Rooms were very clean, generous tea and coffee. Very quiet time because we stayed ona Monday night. We didn't eat there at all so not sure what the food is like, staff friendly. Would stay there again

Ok for £60 a night... Room itself was ok. One towel in a family room, we had to ask for more, which were brought to us quickly. Doors of the rooms are squeaking and walls rather thin, so could hear the neighbours giving a bath to their kids and then people leaving in the morning. We were on the back of the hotel, so outside was pretty quiet. Didn't get breakfast so can't comment on that. Would be nice for signs in hotels to be mistake-free (see pics) and wonder if it's £100 or £150 for cleaning after smoking customers! _ (not that it smelt of anything, I'm just pernickety and don't like inconsistency!)
