Just OK -- Looks a lot like it did when I stayed there 23 years ago Staff was pleasant, breakfast was good, the bed was comfortable, and the hotel is conveniently located to RTP in pleasant surroundings. The general feel and decor of the hotel, however, were much as they were two decades ago, and it seems that the hotel would benefit from some significant renovation. The only real negatives were that the AC was barely adequate to cool the room and could be felt blowing across the beds, no matter how the duct was adjusted; and there is a loud engine of some sort (generator?) that ran all night on the west side of the hotel that could be heard in the nearby rooms, though not in rooms on the east (lobby) side of the hotel. Overall, not bad, but perhaps a little subpar for a Double Tree and for the cost.

Needs AC rework ASAP!!! Hotel room are nice and big but the AC sucks and no one cares. All the maintenance guy did was turn the thermostat down to 60 degrees and my room is still hit. Not helpful at all. What a shame otherwise this place is nice with large rooms. Kept clean but gotta have working AC

Excellent Clean Hotel This hotel was excellent. The housekeeping staff were on point. My room was always clean with daily housekeeping. Although the room was dated and in need of a renovation, the room was so well kept, that it didn’t matter. The grounds were immaculate. Fresh beds of flowers everywhere. My room had a patio by the pool - and one thing I noticed right away was how well trimmed the bushes were outside on my patio. The lake was just steps away with paddle boats available for guests. The Piney Point restaurant had an excellent breakfast buffet for about $15 each morning. In the evening, the restaurant serves dinner. I had the Ribeye steak for two nights - both times cooked perfectly and loaded with flavor. I also had the turkey club one night which was massive. All of the staff were friendly - and James at the front desk was incredible.

Book somewhere else!!!! This is not a good choice of hotel. Not only is there no security, there are no cameras and they could care less at the front desk, if anything happens with you. We stayed for 3 nights, to wake up to our car stolen on the last night and they said there was nothing they could do, smh!
