Not the best, but pet friendly Red Roof Inn on I 95 South Carolina. We were able to find a room with a king size bed. The room is relatively clean, but seemed small. The bathroom was very small as well, but everything was clean. When I entered to pay for the room, I was met by a very nice lady with a happy smile, very happy to take care of me attitude. Later on I went back to the office to inquire where the ice machine was. A man came out and he said yeah you gotta go down the middle of the building to get it. And I was like you mean, I have to walk all the way around the end of the building? He said, in a dismissive manner, no just go through. The sheets seem to be clean and crisp. The pillows smelled good. (I use my own sheets and blanket wherever I go. ) There were only two towels, but they were small, not enough to cover a larger person. The decor inside this particular red roof Inn has wallpaper which is peeling and wrinkling, which leads me to believe that, there was a leak at the wall by the ceiling. There’s a big crack in it. I do see something black, which could be possibly black mold. I have the air conditioner set to 70 but it’s not cooling very well. The room also comes equipped with an ironing board and iron and a blow dryer. There are plastic cups, a nice size refrigerator, microwave, but one odd thing is that they don’t have any outlets for charging your phones. One of the lights on the opposite side of the bed didn’t work. Breakfast consisted of bananas, toast, mini muffins, which were dry and stale some danish and stale cereal. The juices were cranberry fruit and orange, but they were only syrup and the water machine was completely empty so there was not much to eat, and the milk was only good enough for two bowls of cereal, and the thing was empty. I inquired about hard-boiled eggs and I was told by a woman who could barely speak English that the law said they were not allowed to offer hard boiled eggs. So that was a disappointment. In fact, breakfast was a big disappointment and they hadn’t even set up yet, but they were supposed to set up from 6 to 8 and we arrived at 6:30 and nothing was ready. So once again, Red Roof Inn was a partial disappointment, but, this one was better than the last one I reviewed. I can see why the rooms were so cheap. One good thing I found and appreciated was we were given a military discount. I think if my fellow travelers are just looking for a cheap place to shower and lay your head, Red Roof Inn is the place to go. Just don’t expect much.

Horrible customer service! I have stayed at this hotel a few times and it's a no frills hotel in a location off I95. The location is convenient for us when traveling home from Florida and they allow pets and breakfast is included. Last year when staying here, we found blood all over the sheets as we were getting ready for bed. I called the front desk and they said housekeeping was gone. I had to strip the sheets and bring them to the front desk and they gave me new sheets to put on. The blood was all the way down to the mattress pad, so everything needed to be changed. I spoke with the manager the next day and he accused us of bleeding, which we were not. He was extremely rude. This year, needing a convenient location that allows dogs, we decided to give the hotel another try since we had stayed there two times before without issues. As we were driving, I got a notice that my reservation had been canceled. I called the main reservation number and they rebooked me. I again got a cancelation email. Then I received a phone call from someone saying "do not step foot on this property and do not book another reservation" I felt extremely threatened and had to find another dog friendly hotel after driving 9 hours. I DO NOT recommend this hotel!

Run away, do not stop The earlier reviews are a sad, misdirection, and not representing the truth. Several tips for those of you making the mistake of choosing this RRI in Hardeeville, SC. First do not walk on the terribly worn laminate floors without foot wear. Otherwise, the soles of your feet will be black with filth. The bath rooms are disgusting. From the presumably sticky stuff running down the walls, the blackened floor grout (originally gray), the stained shower curtain, the built up crud on the inside of the bathtub, the again built up crud on the tile baseboard, the filth catch all in the corners of the room, enough said? Then…. the breakfast… would have been good, even after the daytime manager checked each pot.. the food was nearly room temperature. Is that another health and safety issue?? Seriously, this place is housing the non English speaking community. Are you sure you want to introduce your family to this place?
