Health Hazard, stay away! La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Jacksonville Butler Blvd. I do not understand why the health department has not closed this hotel to visitors, it is a health hazard and should be condemned. We made our reservations online, upon arrival immediately noticed the filthy carpets and in general worn look of the lobby. We were told the hotel was under renovation, our room was on an upper floor. The elevator was gross, but the real attention getter happened when we stepped out into the hallway leading to our room. I have NEVER seen anything so disgusting in my life. The hallway was dark and the carpets were black with mold, mold was growing up the side of the walls...it looked like a living forest! My first thought was, I can see this mold spreading out the wallpaper...what is happening inside the walls? I have pulmonary issues, absolutely no way would I expose myself to this. We checked out and stayed at a nearby hotel where the receptionist told us the condition of the La Quinta was general knowledge. My only regret was that I didn't take pictures, you would not believe how truly awful it was.
