Suites of Dorchester

Acceptable The hotel was in the process of being renovated while we were there. The noise was not an issue, but other repairs are needed. I will say that the staff was friendly and quick to solve any problems or answer any questions. My room had blinds/shades that were broken (could not raise/lower). The pool was very cold, but no one else was there. We also went to the pool at the sister hotel, Marseilles. The water was much warmer there and a short walk to the beach.

Grand name for not so grand hotel The pictures in your advert bear no relation to real life. The concierge in checking us in told us that they were disappointed in their occupancy rate for this time of year . But I am not surprised at all! the suite we had was spacious, with a lounge ( but was dark and unwelcoming ) a kitchen with varios appliances, and bathroom with very out dated fittings! The shower was dreadful! The suite was clean and tidy , we could also use the sister hotel , nearby for breakfast , drinks and pool area because the Dorchester had none of these amenities . No laundry facilites at all and the vending machine for water wasn’t working! The location of the hotel was very good, very central and within walking distance to many attractions including Ocean Drive. We were told that it was undergoing renovations but there wasn’t any sign of work going on . Renovation is badly needed .

Excellent Bang for your Buck This hotel has been very clean and easy to sleep in …. very quiet. The staff have been extremely professional and the food at the restaurant down below which is a Cuban restaurant has been quite amazing m! We were here for one week and really enjoyed the quiet, excellent Wifi and the beautiful swimming pool and the large rooms. We definitely recommend this hotel to others!

Loved it here! Stayed here for 4 nights during a tour of Florida with our 6 year old. I was very nervous after reading reviews but it was one of our favourite places out of the 5 hotels we stayed at. Suite clean and large. It was super quiet. Micheal one of the concierge was very friendly and helpful and the barman was also lovely and welcoming. The on-site Cuban restaurant food was amazing - best food we had for the whole trip and very reasonably priced. The pool was fine, just expect an inner city pool area because that’s what it is! My daughter loved it anyway. The location of this place is amazing, 5 minutes to the beach and 10 minutes to Ocean Drive. We could’ve stayed longer.

Nothing about this is Dorchester quality. I stayed here for about a week. The location is great but the quality of cleaning is bad. They just sweep the rooms. I spilt drink and not one of the cleaners mopped the bathroom. The window doesn't open so I had to do with the air con. Windows should be made to open to allow fresh air. A slight mould smell lingers in the air. The hotel require an update. I'm used to much better quality hotels. A name change is aldo required. Don't get me started on the pool....poorly maintained. The bar isn't too bad. Had flies in the lemon and lime which servers put in the residents drinks. I find that the pictures are very misleading. The stairwell often smell. Miami caters to the Spanish community. The staff are friendly.. think the cleaners need to understand english as when speaking to them can be quite a struggle. The tv is quite entertaining. The bar happy hour is ok...just have to give a dollar tip everytime you get a drink during happy hour. No cocktails though just a choice of 3 spirit and chasers.
