Nicely Renovated This was a layover on a trip. The property looks good. The window treatment in our room was the best we have seen in a Choice brand, with a roll-up translucent panel behind a pretty opaque roll-up panel that completely darkened the room. The building had excellent wifi. The breakfast was a solid "B", with egg and sausage patties, biscuits and gravy among the offerings. The only down-check was no hot water. We assume that management responded to high energy costs by turning the water heating down to lukewarm. It took the glow off of what was otherwise a very nice stay.

Where is the pool ? I hate giving negative reviews and especially when I know its franchised out and it is a business at the end of the day. Coming from the UK I have soon found out that despite what is 'written on the tin' isn't necessarily what you will get in the USA. For example the pool advertised on the website, hotel brochures and at the time of our booking looks like it was filled in some time ago and the recently refurbished must have been years ago. The bed was comfortable however the pillows perhaps could have been a better quality. I do get that its a budget hotel and as long as you don't expect frills ( as we didn't) then this is the place for a one night stay over.

No-Frills; You Decide If That's Good Enough The breakfast is a definite plus. Good selection of hot food like biscuits and gravy, very good sausage, decent biscuits, and excellent juice and other beverage options. The front desk staff is courteous, friendly, and thorough, even if the poor lady DOES seem exhausted. She was lovely and friendly. The rooms, however, leave something to be desired. The beds are comfortable, but the other furniture is stained, torn, and old; upon checking out, I thought (quite belatedly) that I probably should have taken pictures of the ripped and stained furniture, lest the management think WE had done it, and refuse to release our $100 that they take for "damage control". The hotel is convenient to the interstate, and there is excellent parking; we didn't hear very much from the other guests, either, so there's that. But for $100 a night, carpets should be regularly shampooed so guests' socks aren't BLACK; there shouldn't be teeny little flying ... things on the walls, furniture shouldn't have HUGE tears and stains in it, and fridges should be cold, and televisions in-room should actually turn on. But it was only overnight, so it was "good enough" for the two of us.

Depends on what is important to you When I first viewed the room I thought I would give them a 5-star rating. For this hotel it really depends on what you are looking for. Because of mixed reviews, there were lots of rooms available, a great price and I had time, I decided to stop in and view a room. The good news first: The room was large, clean, and looked fairly new. The bed was very comfortable. The wifi was far better than what I normally experience. The staff were always friendly. For that reason, for what I wanted, this room did a good job and at a great price. The bad news. The carpet in the halls was dirty. The lav faucet dripped. The stopper in the bathtub didn’t work. When we asked about the breakfast and the prominent picture of waffles on a poster in the breakfast upon checking in we were told that the waffle maker had broken and the owner had chosen not to replace it. But otherwise it was a great breakfast. It wasn’t. Nothing looked that appetizing. Wife had raisin bran where she normally has a full breakfast. The “fresh fruit” was 2 “old” oranges. I worked late in the room and slept in. When she attempted to bring me breakfast up to me, which she has done for decades at hotels everywhere of all kinds with no problems, she was stopped. We had less than a roll of toilet paper and she was afraid we would run out. She asked for another roll. No. We have never needed to ask for toilet paper at another hotel. Ever. They put a $100 damage deposit down on your credit card or you must pay a cash deposit without a credit card. That was no problem for me. We have never damaged a hotel room. I was solicited in the parking lot. This is a problem they evidently try to stop but one you should expect. I think it comes partly from them renting out extra rooms to shelters according to other reviews. The lady who asked for me to help pay for 3 days she was overdue for a room there ( who knows if it was true) says she was put up there for 10 days and they locked her out when they caught her gone and she wanted to get her stuff back. Who knows? The pool was empty of water. I suspect it mostly is. The owners seem to be emigrants who employ lots of family and like I said are all nice. The level of maintenance and service does not appear to be lack of care or not paying attention. That is how, I think, they believe a hotel should be run. So it is what it is. Clean, big, newly remodeled room. Nice bed. Good wifi. Good price. If you can past everything else, and I could, this one might be for you. If traveling through and just needed a comfortable room I would stay here again. I don’t care about breakfast or much about the hallway. You might not like it at all.

Convenient and Clean Stayed one night while traveling. Hotel is convenient to interstate with plenty of parking. We found it clean and comfortable. I arrived for breakfast as it was being restocked so there was some delay in eating. Also, the sausage was cold. Other than this, the breakfast was average for a hotel like this. Front desk clerk was very friendly at check in.
