Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Muskegon, MI

Hot water is not optional. There was no hot water in the shower. We were quickly given a nearby room. Our keys did not open the room on arrival. We were quickly given new keys. The room was clean and the breakfast buffet was typical. As tired travelers, we were hoping for a hassle-free overnight stay.

Family Vacation As the previous reviewer wrote in May 2024, yes there are some renovations going on but we did not experience any issues. Easy access from the expressway with plenty of places to eat. The outside and inside pool areas look nice and were busy until they closed at 10pm. The morning breakfast had a good selection of items that were replaced quickly when they got low.

Wait for the renovations to be completed before booking this hotel (May 2024) It's my fault for not reading the hotel's website closely before booking it; I just booked it based on the Country Inn and Suites name and previous experience with the brand. When we drove up, we knew it wasn't a traditional, original Country Inn and Suites, and the fact that it is still listed as a Quality Inn here on TripAdvisor says a lot about how our experience went. This hotel is undergoing extensive renovations. The lobby and breakfast area look nice, but as for the rest, well, I can only address the 2nd floor hallway of the left side of the building as that's the only other part of the hotel I went to. Why? Because the stairs (no elevator, but it clearly says that on their website) were dirty and the hallway was humid and warm. Our room had only been partially renovated as the beds seemed to be updated, but the sheets were pretty thin and the towels were getting threadbare. The door on our room didn't close properly; it had to be slammed to get it to shut, and needed some force to open it. The manager was in the hallway and made a note to have maintenance look at it. We checked out the next day and my comment was that they should NOT rent out rooms that have not been completely renovated. We understand it is a work in progress and hope that it will be up to standards, but at this point, it is not at all what you might think it should be based on the brand. I'd wait until they were done renovating or make sure to request a FULLY RENOVATED room before booking here. They've been working on it for several months and it takes time.

Great for families and groups! My group (16 families) were in town for a hockey tournament last weekend. Our group was set up at a hotel (through tournament) that was “less than desirable”, by all accounts! I called Country Inn & Suites to see if they had availability for our 15 families for that (same) day and the next (Friday & Saturday). Everyone was so nice and responsive! The manager, Fran, called me back within a half hour and stated she had room for us all, gave us a group rate and got us right in!! When we got to the hotel, everything was smooth sailing. Our whole group (kids and parents alike) we’re so happy and grateful! We couldn’t have been happier. It was nice, clean, the pool and arcade was fantastic, and there was space for us to all hang out together! Highly recommend!!!!

A work in progress Overall it was okay. Hotel is going under a remodel. So parts of it are new and updated. Other parts are still needing to be updated. Breakfast was standard. Waffles , cereal, eggs and sausage. Again okay. Room was fine. Bathroom was 90 percent redone but actual room was a bit dated. I would stay again but expectations should be modest.
