In 1994, Lance Johnston launched his photography business in a makeshift studio within the garage his parents? house. These days, his studio in Conway still resides in a Johnston-family garage, only this time the 1,200-square-foot space rests on nearly two acres of land that Lance owns himself. During Wednesday and Friday sessions in Conway, Tuesday and Thursday shoots at his Little Rock Studio, and numerous on-location appointments in between, Lance and his top-notch staff busily refine his ?new classic? style by snapping shots of families, high-school seniors, wedding parties, and kids. His clients can capture their favorites in a variety of matted, framed, and canvas portraits. Lance?s eye for preservation-ready moments has earned him 11 Kodak-Gallery awards as well as honors for his children?s photography from the APPA and the Arkansas chapter of the If You Keep Making That Face, It Might Stay That Way Forever Foundation.
With more than 386 locations dotting North America, JCPenney Optical's ubiquity is matched only by its extensive selection of contact lenses and designer frames that includes brands such as Armani Exchange, Liz Claiborne, and Nicole Miller. Despite this wide reach, all lenses are cut at the same optical laboratory, ensuring a consistency of quality and a pretty good idea of where to look if your glasses run away from home. Each location has an independent state-licensed doctor of optometry, who can perform vision exams and help clients determine which type of vision correction will work best.

Armed with an army of innovative and certified shutterbugs, Olan Mills Portrait Studio provides families with high-quality portraits, continuing a mission that was established more than 75 years ago by founder Olan Mills Sr. Skilled in the art of capturing infants, children, families, and bunny-ears-giving ghost orbs on film, Olan Mills’s experienced smile snappers will take a series of poses amid a variety of backgrounds and lighting options. The studio is equipped with a selection of props—including numbers for birthdays, toys, and boxes—and patrons may bring their own photo-enlivening items from home. The resulting photos find their way to prints in natural color, black and white, or sepia tones; they can also be immortalized in the studio's signature Old Masters style, a canvas brushed with highlights to recreate look of an oil painting. Like the gentlemanly mariners of ages past with their full schedule of sea-battles, the photographers welcome appointments, but do not require them.
