Soccer Zone South Bend’s dedicated team of coaches display their passion for the great sport of soccer through classes designed to hone the technique of young strikers from ages 3–10. The newly formatted Tiny Tots course imparts knee-high kickers with the spatial awareness to kick around a soccer ball and hone the teamwork skills necessary for sneaking into the World Cup with four friends and an oversize trench coat. As kids play, learn, and make new friends on the pitch, Soccer Zone South Bend’s instructors guide their development through dedicated teaching and positive reinforcement.
The Muskegon Family YMCA serves its community with fitness facilities and classes open to youngsters and adults alike. Facilities include workout rooms, indoor courts, and outdoor playing fields along with a fully equipped locker room featuring saunas, steam rooms, and hot tubs. In workout studios, instructors lead many adult- and youth-fitness classes throughout the week, and swim coaches captain lessons, swim-team practices, and exercise sessions in the indoor pool. When parents work out, experts keep a close eye on their kids in the nursery, ensuring they won't don fake beards to run off and join a gang of lumberjacks.
During the learn-to-skate sessions at The Summit's 176,000-square-foot sports complex, aspiring ice skaters aged 4 and up will bolster their balance and polish their edgework in a series of 10 sessions, each comprised of a 40-minute instructional period and a 20-minute practice period. Former NCAA hockey player Steve Greenberg and his well-trained staff help wobbly first-time gliders coast with confidence across the rink. After training sessions, wannabe Gretzkys, Kwans, and Spiderman on Ice extras can show off their new moves with two passes for open skating, which include skate rental. See the The Summit's calendar for open skate times.
