Helmed by owner and lead trainer Mathew Gover, EXL Fitness’s muscle mavens whip participants into shape during four weeks of intensive, yet beginner-friendly boot camps that work in conjunction with nutrition plans and at-home programs. New campers are first introduced to the program during a 90-minute orientation, where participants of all body types learn about proper warm-up methods and the season’s latest spandex trends. Then, trainers lead teams through metabolic-burgeoning workouts that employ the use of medicine balls, kettlebells, and free weights. With a multifaceted focus on injury prevention, at-home nutrition, cardio health, and personal accountability, the four-week course is designed to help participants tone physiques and master Jesse Ventura impersonations in a timely fashion. Boot camps with a strength-training emphasis are held on Monday, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 6 a.m., 7 a.m., and 5:30 p.m. while cardio-focused camps are held on Tuesday and Thursdays at 6:30 a.m., 7 a.m., and 6 p.m. EXL Fitness also offers a course exclusively for women at 9 a.m. daily.

Trainer Chelsea Rupp warns all her potential students that CrossFit might become an addiction. When she first started training five years ago, she was astounded and enthralled by its challenging and effective workouts, and was instantly hooked. After receiving her Level 1 CrossFit certification, Chelsea and her partners founded her own CrossFit gym—CrossFit GSL—where she and a team of enthusiastic trainers lead students of all levels in the high-intensity, ever-changing routines. Surrounded by the colorful flags and bright walls of their studio, the trainers guide students through warm-ups and functional workouts, scaling the drills' intensity to accommodate varying fitness levels. They encourage each student to push past their previously set boundaries as they heave barbells and kettlebells, jump rope, hop on large wood blocks, and toss medicine balls. The supportive instructors dole out nutritional guidance as well as postworkout recovery tips, such as techniques for therapeutic stretches and tips for mending shirts torn apart by bulging muscles.

OZone Fit cultivates a supportive, inspiring, and fun social culture to keep fitness motivation strong. The one-month membership provides participants with a plethora of group training classes and a choice between OZone's two training programs. Action-packed 30-minute classes allow individuals with crammed schedules, short attention spans, or timed chess matches to work up some heat without losing half the day. With training programs designed for adults and children, OZone provides fitness fodder for bodies in every life stage. The Power Tone program gives each participant specialized attention and feedback as they chart courses through strength training and cardiovascular exercises. The OZone training program addresses the fitness needs of young athletes from 5 to 18 years old, grouped according to age and knowledge of 1990s TGIF sitcom lineups. Professional trainers supervise all classes, and OZone members can track their progress by keeping and comparing daily workout results with other members.
