Tru Passion Cosmetics and Hair Studios's owner Sybil Triplett wants to do more than make her clients' hair beautiful--she also wants to make it healthy. In addition to providing a slew of hair care services including cuts, color treatments, and cornrows, Sybil's works to educate her clients about their coif. She teaches guests how to maintain hairs' inherent strength by treating it well and making it to 40 push-ups before bed.

Fashionable hairstyles are constantly changing. How do you keep up-to-date on popular trends?
I am constantly learning new braid techniques through seminars and paid videos to keep up with new trends. I host a blog that provides free vital information on haircare, skincare, and nutritional needs to help clients upkeep their beauty regimens.
Is there anything else you want to add that we didn't cover?
Soon to come to Braids by Jessica is a more varied stock of extension hair for styles so that clients don't have to bring their own extension hair, a Mary Kay cosmetic inventory, and an additional braid assistant to provide for a faster one-stop shop experience for your haircare, makeup, and extension hair selection needs.
Do you do natural hairstyles? If so, what services do you offer?
Cornrows, dreadlocs, flat twist, kinky twist, and individual braids/plaits, all with or without extensions, as well as tree braids, crochet braids, senegalese twist, fishtail braids, and box braids, all with extensions.
G Patton Salon's stylist Jessica Abrahante specializes in giving hair the perfect color. Of course, over her 25 years in the hair industry she's picked up some other tricks as well, including Bumble and Bumble Cutting Classes certification, Wella Color certification, and a creative cutting and coloring course diploma from Toni & Guy in London. Deftly wielding her scissors, she refashions shaggy mops into chic styles or clips away that one lock that keeps getting in a customer's eyes as a warning for the others. Color services include revamping single-process treatments as well as more subtle highlighting, adding eye-catching texture to 'dos.
From her outpost at NWK Styles, Sara Discioscia transforms stale or unkempt hairstyles into trendy new 'dos. Once seated, clients settle in for contemporary haircuts, specialty color treatments, and straightening services. Her range of skills also includes semipermanent colors, roller-set curls, and updos for special occasions, such as a wedding or an attempt to break the Guinness World Record for highest pompadour.
Erika LaPlante has hairstyling in her blood. She's a third-generation stylist, but that doesn't mean she hasn't worked hard to get where she is. Erika graduated from Rudy and Kelly Academy in 2008 and went on to work at Best Corrective Color Silver Award-winner G Patton Salon just three years later. She puts this know-how to good use when crafting flattering haircuts or adding dimension with highlights.
Kut Kings, located across the street from the Chrysler Museum of Art, specializes in ethnic hairstyles for men and women. Licensed barbers trim and style ladies' coiffures and keep men looking sharp with trims and shaves. The family-friendly spot also offers children's haircuts, and it even has a kids' corner with toys and miniature furniture.
