Do you use any products or brands you're particularly proud of? What makes them uniquely effective?
A lot of massage clinics take time out of your session for undressing, redressing, and talking to your massage therapist. At ncognito you get full hands-on time for your massage. A 60-minute massage means 60 minutes, not 50. You will still have time to talk to your Licensed Massage Therapist before and after your session, so plan on being in the studio for about 75 minutes. We believe in quality time with our clients and you will have our full attention while you are here.
What is one fun, unusual fact about your business?
Marcus Nisbett, the founder of ncognito, studied massage therapy at The Swedish Institute in New York and is also a Certified Personal Trainer. Due to his dual background, he takes a balanced approach to health and looks at pain and stress management from multiple angles to achieve results.
What's the most common beauty mistake you see people make? What would you recommend they do instead?
A lot people believe that massage is a luxury. We believe massage is a necessity to living a balanced lifestyle; for the physical relief and the mental release that massage provides for the body, mind, and soul. We want to make quality massage affordable and accessible to everyone.
Is there anything else you want to add that we didn't cover?
Ncognito is a boutique health studio that believes in a balanced approach to living a healthy lifestyle. We believe that you need to work out, eat healthy and get regular massages. At ncognito we believe that the path to optimal health is a matter of asking the right questions. For all you crossfit junkies—you've ran 6 miles, done 1,000 pull ups, and burpeed until you threw up....it's only Tuesday. You are walking like you forgot how to use your legs and it hurts to take your shirt off. Don't you think it's time to take an hour and give your muscles some TLC? For stay-at-home moms—you spend your days getting the kids ready for school, cleaning the house, taking the kids to soccer practice, making dinner, doing the laundry, and, oh, don't forget about Spike's play date in the park with all his furry buddies. When's the last time you took an hour to escape to a place where it is all about you? To all you desk jockeys—it is Thursday, you've already put in 40 hours this week and there is still a day (or two) to go before the weekend is here. Your shoulders feel like they are at your ears and your forearms feel like solid rocks causing little kids at the grocery store to look at you in terror, thinking that T-rex has escaped from Jurassic Park. Don't you think it is time to take an hour and humanize yourself again? Your boss already took 40 of yours.
With more than 700 locations, Jamba Juice proves to the masses that nutrition can be speedy and delicious. Since the beginning, the company’s product philosophy has revolved around choosing whole fruits and other natural ingredients over artificial flavorings, sweeteners, and preservatives. The menu is completely free of high-fructose corn syrup and trans fats, and it offers additional accommodations for vegan and gluten-free diets.
This naturalistic approach is fully realized in Jamba Juice's selection of smoothies. Made with 100% fruit juice, sherbet, and frozen yogurt, the frosty delights range from all-fruit smoothies such as peach perfection and strawberry whirl to more indulgent creamy treats, including peanut butter moo'd, an enticing blend of peanut butter, bananas, nonfat vanilla frozen yogurt, and milk chocolate.
For those with heartier appetites, steel-cut oats steep in soymilk before being enhanced with toppings such as apples, cinnamon, and brown-sugar crumble. The lunch hour presents protein-packed mini wraps, toasted bistro sandwiches and California Flatbreads that pack only about 320–420 calories each.
