$9.99 for a Water-Park Admission (Up to $19.95 Value)

Summer Waves Water Park on Georgia's Jekyll Island beats the summer heat with six slides, including the enclosed Pirate's Passage, which sends inner tubes down its five-story double-drop height, and the half-mile Turtle Creek lazy river. Swimmers battle turbulent waters in the Frantic Atlantic wave pool, and little ones less than 48 inches tall splash in a kiddie pool. Children age 3 and younger are admitted for free with an approved swim diaper. After August 7, the water park is only open on weekends; click here to view the full schedule.

Jekyll Island Authority

On Jekyll Island, waves lick the 10 miles of beaches as kayaks cut through the salty water, cyclists roll over 20 miles of paved trails, and riders on horseback clop through hushed maritime forests. All visitors to the barrier island can partake in myriad active, relaxing, or educational activities while immersed in its lush natural landscapes, where dunes give way to beaches filled with hermit crabs and shell collecting and where birders clutch binoculars to examine avian habitats and decode gulls' sign language. The island's public golf club, open since 1898, hosts two 18-hole courses and one 9-hole course on manicured greens and rolling terrain. In the summer, the Summer Waves Water Park provides a cool escape from the heat with six slides, a wave pool, and a lazy river. For indoor adventurers, exhibits at the Georgia Sea Turtle Center illuminate the lives of the shelled reptiles, and a museum preserves relics of the wealthy families who used the island as their gilded getaway and a place to bury their expired money. The Jekyll Island Authority oversees all conservation and development on the idyllic island, existing to continually improve the park and its amenities.

The Groupon Guide to: Life-Hacking Alarm Clocks

Any fool can set a wake-up alarm on their cell phone like the vast majority of Americans. It takes a boldly sleepy innovator to try one of these life-hacking alarm clocks:

The Rolled Timer: This shrieking alarm clock rolls off your nightstand on rubber wheels and keeps bleating until you find it quivering in the corner of the shower.

The Up, Up, and Awake: This alarm clock takes the form of a tiny autopiloting helicopter that emits piercing cries while hovering over you, just out of arm’s reach, until you become awake enough to retrieve it with a ladder or between two brooms.

The Bright and Early: This ultimate alarm clock will begin shooting jets of flame in random directions at impossible-to-predict intervals during the night. Do you dare sleep at all?

Which one of these life-hacking alarm clocks is right for you?
