great food, impressive wine list and nice ambiance for romantic dinner in dining room, or to catch up with a friend in the bistro. same menu for both.

We had a fantastic meal at Willow. Entrees and specialty drinks were great. The only gripe I had is my husband and I had limited time, and the waitstaff was a bit slow. We arrived early, hoping to avoid wait times (5:30pm). I clocked from the time the bus person removed our plates until the waitress approached our table 10 minutes had elapsed. I don't really find that acceptable. We had wanted to have dessert but didn't have time due to that wait time and one other wait time.

Willow makes good use of BB&C: Bacon, Butter, and Cream. I no longer eat pork, so the menu has become a bit more challenging for me (they add BACON to more than half of their entrees!), but as a once in a while dietary and financial splurge, Willow is great!

It was good food and service wasn't to bad. I feel that it is over priced for what you get. I work in a fine dining restaurant and the price point wasn't that far off from my restaurant. Also my fish was WAY to salty but no one really asked my how I was till I finished my dish. I will give them another try, may be the next time will be better.

The food was delicious. I had Alaskan halibut. It was a little bit pricey though.

From Our Editors

Tracy O’Grady, an acclaimed chef who once ran the kitchen of Kinkead’s Restaurant, teamed up with Kate Jansen, a cofounder of Firehook Bakeries, to craft Willow Restaurant’s modern continental menu. Their dishes draw on traditional culinary techniques from both French and northern Italian cooking blended with high-end American ingredients. Though complex in flavor, all of the entrees—from the braised lamb shank to the roasted wild alaskan halibut to the pepper-crusted seared top sirloin steak—are prepared with straightforward, simple techniques.

Hoping to create a tranquil and relaxing sanctuary from the stressful pace of the country’s capital, the eatery calms its dining room with deep-purple and burgundy accents, rich fabrics, and mahogany woodwork. The space feels like a re-creation of a 1930s jazz lounge, with black-and-white photographs and glistening silver trays. Two semiprivate rooms with seating for up to 10 can be great for private dinners and upscale Go Fish tournaments, and the larger private dining room can be reserved for events with up to 50 guests.
