About Personal Pilates Plus Arvada, CO
Katie Thornhill, the owner of Personal Pilates Plus, has been a dedicated professional in the fitness and wellness industry since 1983. She launched her personal training and fitness company in 1996, specializing in Pilates and personal fitness training. Katie graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise and Sports Sciences, with a concentration in Wellness Management, from Colorado State University in 1991. With over 35years of experience as a personal trainer, she is certified by the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Additionally, she earned an Associate’s Degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant in 1998 and spent 10 years working at St. Anthony Central in acute neuro-trauma.
Katie received her Pilates certification in 1999 and has been training herself and others ever since. She is certified in pre-natal and post-partum exercise. She has also taught gross anatomy, anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology at CSU and DTC. Katie’s passion lies in facilitating a balanced life that encompasses family, education, occupation, and overall wellness—emotional, physical, social, and spiritual.In addition to Pilates, Katie enjoys rock climbing, river rafting, camping, hiking, and all outdoor exercises (indoors when necessary). She also loves traveling and spending time with her family.
As a Physical Therapist Assistant, Katie is an exercise expert. With 40 years of personal training experience, including working with injured clients and athletes, she has helped thousands of clients achieve their goals of reducing pain and increasing core strength, among many other accomplishments under her guidance.
