Black Mountain Inn, Black Mountain

This was a most disappointing getaway. The accommodations at the Inn were very out of date and in poor condition. Our bedroom in particular had the bathroom in the bedroom with a slanted floor which contributed to a slanted very old bed. The Inn was very dark and musty smelling and the service was less than satisfactory. I was not pleased to have paid even the reduced Groupon price and would have been horrified to have been charged the usual rate. The location is neither in town nor tucked in a remote wooded area which was expected. The many trains that went through town in the night were a major disruption to a relaxing nights rest. I am surprised and disappointed that Groupon would have offered this B&B and will not be likely to purchase this type of offer in the future. Shame on you Groupon!

Try to make your guests feel welcome. LIttle touches in the room...candles, soap, bath wash. Come in at breakfast time and ask people if there is anything they need. Put a overhead light in the dinning room...it is dark and dreary.

This was a lovely setting and a wonderful retreat. The wildflowers and huge trees kept the inn cool and gave a wonderful view from our window. Loved the fact that there was herb tea available; however, no water was made available to guests, even at breakfast. No air conditioning -- The weather was perfect and this wasn't a problem for us, but people with allergies might appreciate knowing this before making a reservation. Fresh towels each morning would have been nice. We never got a receipt for any of the charges. We're still trying to figure out what exactly was charged to our card!
