Metro Fuxon is owned by a couple of doctors, but the restaurant leaves little to science, playing instead on the nearly extra-sensory experience that comes from melding Caribbean, Nigerian, and European flavors. It doesn't hurt that the menu is in good hands with celebrity chef Sammy Davis and Bisi, who recently took home the top prize on the Food Network's "Chopped: Redemption" competition. Diners warm their tastebuds with flavorful Cajun catfish bites or fried plantains for appetizers. And the savory-sweet entrees include honey-glazed Cornish hens, skewers of chicken coated in coconut curry, and an old Southern favorite—fried green tomatoes. Kick back in the secluded back room to listen to live jazz, open mic performers, or sidle up to the bar to sip Jamaican beer and watch big screen TVs. There's also al fresco seating in warmer months.
