The event was very good, but way overcrowded, and there really weren't that many vendors (9 or 10), and about half ran out before ticketholders were able to get in. While it was a good community support fundraising effort, the combination of bad weather, and some discontinuity will likely not see me or my friends back to visit in the future.

The event could have been more user friendly. Missed a lot of the vendors due to a confusing setup. Food was delicious!

Great idea for an event. Physical line barriers may need to be created next year to prevent line jumping and assist with flow. Vendors served delicious Mac.

It rained most of the time I was there, which was beyond control but did affect the experience since the whole event was outdoors. The lines were crowded and unorganized, the portions were small, and the inability to order a large portion of mac and cheese was more than a little disappointing. I enjoyed but I hope the event is better organized next year and in a bigger space to accommodate it.

Ok, the event had some flaws. Long lines, some vendors ran out of food early, etc. But I still had a wonderful time!! And it's for a great cause. So yes, I definitely recommend!

GREAT CHARITY, event was poorly organized as far as there being 1 LONG (slowly moving)line w/merging traffic b/c of no direction given at all. unable to taste 4 vendors due to running out of samples & then it appeared 2-3 vendors didn't show. really glad I was able to get discounted tickets through Groupon!

This event was not well managed. I am glad my entrance fee supported the nonprofit counseling work but the event was at a venue much too small, with no prior mention of a parking cost and very little free parking, very long lines, very difficult to manage in the rain, and there was very little food. NOT WORTH IT but as I said glad it went to a good cause. Will NOT go again.

Lines long but for a charity event and yummy food, great deal. Mr. weather shared a few showers but didn't dampen fun!

Community Grief Support is a non-profit organization that provides free grief support to people in Birmingham and the surrounding areas. I highly recommend this organization for the work they do will all losses, but particularly with spousal loss. Please support all its efforts and let the organization know of people who might benefit from its services.

Macaroni Cheese a southern favorite, grief support a good cause made the event successful. The organization was not so good., no one had any answers. You stood in a long line for an armband and then in line for the small samples. Needless to say we had to go eat afterwards.

From Our Editors

Cheesy, gooey, and stretchy—Mac and Cheese is probably the only comfort food that can be described in these words and still evoke warm feelings. No surprise then that this combination has inspired an event celebrating its existence: Magic City Mac N' Cheese Festival. During this first ever event, hosted by Community Grief Support, local restaurants, caterers, and food trucks present their unique versions of this classic to raise money for a charitable cause. All proceeds from the festival will fund support groups, grief counseling, and community grief education.
