Manager wouldn't accept the full cash value of the purchase price of the expired voucher even though it clearly states that the full amount paid NEVER EXPIRES. Yes, the promotional Groupon was for 4 or more people, but the expired cash value shouldn't have been effected by the amount of people present for the dinner. Regardless, he'd only give us half the cash value, which I find completely wrong. Needless to say, even though our server was good and the food tasty, we were completely turned off from returning to this establishment by the managers refusal to accept what the real value of the expired Groupon was.

Great food and service. A little disappointed they added a service charge/gratuity to the bill

The service was good, food was good - but arrived only warm (could have been hotter) I was disappointed when the waitstaff informed us that you did not have any stone crabs because Jake's wasn't going to order any until after the Groupon was done. Not that both of us planned on eating Stone Crabs (I don't care for them) but my husband and I were celebrating and the Stone Crabs is all my Husband could talk about for 3 days before out dinner visit. I do feel the prices were on the high side.

Last Sunday night 10/14 my husband and I had a coupon from groupon so we decided to give Jake's a try. What a giant didappointment. We had the worst meal that we ever had dining out. The $10.00 salad was skimpy with one cut strawberry and two cherry tomatoes. I already knew what I wanted to order after seeing sea bass on the menu on line. After being told they didn't have that anymore because customers kept sending it back I settled for another fish dinner which the waitress said was going to be replaced by the special which was way better. I had 2 small shrimp stuffed with crabmeat ( that I couldn't eat) they were dry and tasteless with too much breading, also a few scallops which were mushy and not even browned , no seasoning and dry as well, served with a dry tasteless tomato half and dry white rice with a tiny bit of green scallion in it. My husband ordered shrimp and scallops with marinara sauce over pasta. His scallops were actually grey and mushy ( he left some) and pasta overdone. He said he's had better sauce from a jar. I tried dipping my scallops in his sauce and the server noticed and brought me a thimble size of sauce which was not good. When I complained about my meal to the waitress she said " well no one else complained about it" Except for eating a little salad and some bread I actually lost my appetite and was so disgusted that I just wanted to get out of there. I will never go back and will never recommend this restaurant. They need some cooks who know how to cook and season their food properly.

Food was excellent, but very high priced. So if you want a "special" evening, recommend. Otherwise get ready to pay plenty.

From Our Editors

Drawing from 35 years of industry experience, Jake Stone Crab's owner David Leschen captains a crew of chefs who whip up gourmet surf 'n' turf dishes that have enticed the taste buds of a Sun Sentinel reporter. The chefs roll out an array of seafood specialties and premium steaks as ovens turn out daily-baked breads and pastries. The crack of the restaurant's signature stone crab claws resounds throughout the place until the season's end on May 15, when lobster and king crab take their place as the restaurant's star entrees.

Seafood feasts are set in the elegant dining room, in which sunlight filters through billowing curtains onto white-clothed tables. Outside, tables stretch out across the expansive patio, shaded by awnings and cloth umbrellas. Cushy, upholstered patio furniture and an absence of sobbing families of crab make for comfortable al fresco dining.
