About Lotus Thai Restaurant and Lounge

Having developed his expertise in Thai gastronomy in Thailand, Colorado, and New York City over the course of more than 20 years, chef Chai Chunton now flaunts his culinary skills in Lotus Thai Restaurant & Bar. Vines of steam rise from time-tested noodle, vegetarian, meat, and seafood dishes, curling toward nostrils with the hot, sour, sweet, and salty notes of the region's cookery. Adorned by a design team from Thailand, the lounge's dining room is laced with leather booths, ornate Eastern flourishes, and antique chopstick sharpeners. Against the sonic backdrop of occasional evening DJ sets, events in a private room launch the sounds of revelry against exposed-brick walls and a collaborative painting by acclaimed artists Pairoj Pichetmetakul and Kittisak Chontong.

This place looks great. The food is great. This place is very relaxing. Looks like its great for big groups to chill. The service is excellent too. You can order food online from this place on seamless.com and eat24 app.

First off, you get what you pay for, and this place is a little on the expensive side. However, that is a good thing. Let me be honest: If you are looking for a $20.00 Groupon that will cover your entire meal and all you have to think about is the tip, look elsewhere! They will absolutely take the Goupon off the top of your bill, but for two people, even with the deduction, the bill came out to about $75.00. More than worth it. However, this is not a burger joint. Expect to spend some money if you want to really sample their food. Now to be clear the food isn't expensive for New York City or the outer boroughs, and is more than worth it. But again, DO NOT expect Groupon + tip to cover it.
