About Butch McGuire's Tavern

Butch Maguire’s namesake founder entrusted his son Bobby with upholding the 50-year-old tavern’s reputation for pairing its menu of classic pub grub and craft beers with the convivial milieu of an Irish saloon. Dangling lamps glint off burnished wood furnishings and vintage glasswork, as radiant wall sconces spill their glow over plates laden with Guinness-braised bratwurst and custom-cut Reubens. I went to the tavern for lunch. The server, Brooke was nice and helpful. The bartender was rude. I was charged for the special and a soda. The soda was $3. When I presented my groupon I was told I couldn't use it for my soda because it wasn't food. It was a beverage with my meal. Not a drink like a beer. In future, that should be clearly stated to patrons. After I paid for my overpriced soda I realized that a soda was included in my lunch and went back. The bartender seemed annoyed. Took $3 out of his register and TOSSED it onto the bar without a word. What a jerk. The purpose of groupon is to draw in new business, and dazzle them so that they return. The food was good but I won't return nor will I recommend you to anyone because your bartender is lacking in customer service skills.

Love the pork on onion roll but the onion roll is pretty poor lately in quality. Used to be nice bakery made but now is processed bread roll...........just my ten cents
