When I was taking a bite of the caprese salad- tomato, basil, mozzarella - there was part of the tag on the tomato. Not a welcome addition. The pasta dish - a tagliatelle pasta with a white truffle sauce - was super heavy- way too much sauce and cheese. I was hoping to like DeVine as it is my neighborhood but alas it won't be a repeat visit.

The service was amazing. Great job. Our waiter recommended an amazing appraiser (fried calamari) and suggested nice wine to go with our food.

We were the only people in the place at 7:30pm. Ordered a bottle of wine and burgers - the waitress / bar tender then proceeded to restock and shuffle liquor bottles around for about 5 mins until I finally approached her at the bar to ask of she'd forgotten we ordered a bottle. She assured me she hadn't, but we waited another 5 minutes for her to bring the bottle of wine to the table, which she then poured w/out allowing us to taste first. Burgers came out promptly, but had an odd odor and taste. My friend said it was like goat cheese (which she distains, and there was no goat cheese in the description) and I thought it smelled more like a wet dish rag... No joke. Picked at the burgers and didn't finish them, but the fries were good. when 2 more guests appeared, suddenly there was a frenzy with the waitress to light every candle... Seemed odd that they weren't lit for us, but moreso that the candles got more urgent attention than her only customer's bottle of wine. If it weren't for the upfront investment of the groupon, we would have sent the burgers back, finished the wine quickly and bounced. Needless to say we won't be back. It's a shame too, the place is decorated with a cozy, chic vibe - obviously someone invested in the place upfront. They should make a similar investment in training their waitstaff and cook properly... Then it'd be a great asset to this neighborhood.

Our waiter was very attentive and nice. There were a couple of missteps with the dinner but overall the experience was a good one. When my lamb came out rare instead of the mid-rare I asked for he promptly apologized and had the cook fix it right away. Unfortunately, the cook cut the rack apart to remedy the problem and it resulted in the center piece still being rare and the outside pieces being medium well...but the lamb was still tasty. Also, it is supposed to come with braised fennel and instead I got braised celery. Tasty but I hate it when something is substituted with no notice. My husband got the steak and it came out perfectly and was very good!
