Strange place. Tiny place on a corner in a not so great neighborhood. You walk down a small walkway to enter the restaurant. The door is on your left, and a patio is in front of you. A couple of dirty wine glasses were on tables on that patio - the first image we saw. Yuk. When we arrived at our reservation time, 8PM, there were literally only two other couples there. The place was deserted, not what you'd expect on a Saturday night. So I commented to the "hostess" who ended up being the chef's wife and also our server, that I was surprised to see the place so quiet when I couldn't get an earlier reservation. She informed me that they only let Groupon customers come at certain times. Um . . . A word of advice: maybe not be so picky until business picks up a bit? But, all that said, the food was really, really good, creatively prepared and presented. We ordered a fried tortellini appetizer which was fantastic but very rich so we ate less than half and packed the rest to go. The beet salad was a delightful sweet and salty treat. And finally, I had a shrimp and crab risotto which was perfect. Portions are ample. We skipped dessert since we had it at home but I guess Vitor's is famous for their famous french toast which they modify as a dessert. So, I'd say if you keep all these things in mind, or go to Vitor's for brunch (if the Groupon works for that), you'll have a great time.

Be open minded. The chef was the greeter, waiter, and busser i.e. by himself, and he still managed to blow us away with the meal!

Really really good food! Absolutely no complaints about the food. We had been there before for breakfast but never for dinner and will definitely go back! I do wish they had a liquor license. It just feels weird to bring your own alcohol and then pay a corking fee for a nice dinner out. The room was also a little too cold for me. We probably won't go back until the weather is warmer. They also have a really nice patio that looks like a great place to eat in the summer.

The food is good but for the money you can get a better value elsewhere!

From Our Editors

The seasonal brunch and dinner menus at Vitor’s change frequently, rotating approximately every two weeks, depending on what fresh ingredients become available to Chef Vitor Abreu. After refining his skills in such lauded establishments as Nana Grill in Dallas, and Jeff Ruby’s Steakhouse in Cincinnati, Vitor launched his own fine-dining restaurant and bistro in Cincinnati—a place where he leans on seasonal ingredients from domestic lamb to Georgia peaches. He also coordinates a special seven-course gourmet dinner that changes each week.

While partaking in Vitor’s culinary delights, guests can also enjoy the relaxing atmosphere anchored by three unique dining rooms decorated with a European flair—from nutmeg orange and black walls with slate floors to buttercream-colored walls and rich wooden floors. This color scheme extends to a sushi bar, lounge, and cigar patio, as well as a covered patio situated between Vitor’s and the neighboring building.

Vitor’s mix of seasonal cuisine and eclectic design has earned it a steady stream of awards, including multiple commendations from Cincy Magazine and a spot on Urbanspoon’s America’s Most Popular High-End Restaurants 2012. Chef Vitor also counts celebrities such as Nick Lachey and Chef Rego from Food Network's Chopped among his fans.
