Recently changed hands and it simply wasn't as good. In the past we have always enjoyed sitting in the bar. The music was so loud it was impossible to even talk over it. Service was as always wonderful!

We've been going to Sam and Gabe's for about 7 years. The service is always fantastic, the music is enjoyable and the atmosphere is fun. Great drinks and good food.

I did not use the groupon at the Urbandale Sam & Gabe's, I used it at the East Village Sam & Gabe's. While I love the one in Urbandale, the location in East Village. It was cold and stark, it was not a nice restaurant it was more like a sports bar, I don't want to go to dinner to listen to TV sets, the menu was minimal I love to eat new dishes but the offerings were disconnected, food choices did not go together. Salad enormous and not very tasty, mostly greens no substance. It was hard to believe that the 2 locations could be so different.I went twice, it is unlikely that I will try the East Village again. Too many wonderful restaurants to choose from, no reason to go to a bad restaurant again.
