I took my 6 yr. old grandson. He had fun sitting in the plane pretending to be the pilot. He liked watching the video but didn't watch the entire show because it went too long. He liked all the different types of planes. I was impressed at the layout and all the information. It's well worth the time. Especially fun for 5 or 6yr olds and above.

I highly recommend this museum to learn about the history of flying. It is more than interesting and veru interacting. It is a great place for a birthday party also.

About College Park Aviation Museum

The history of heavier-than-air flight goes back more than 100 years. So does the history of the College Park Airport. In fact, the hangar's story is intertwined with the Wright brothers'—Wilbur Wright once gave flight lessons to military pilots at the airport.

Today, the airport—located next to the world's oldest continuously-operating airport—is home to a Smithsonian-affiliated aviation museum with 1.5 stories of exhibit space. Hands-on interactive exhibits offer engaging entertainment for all ages. The Imagination Plane allows museum-goers to use their imagination to travel around the world, while the latest exhibit teaches about the Ercoupe—the Maryland-manufactured plane that "drives like a car". Gravity-defiers can visit a reproduction of the Wrights' 1910 Model B, as well as a prototypical helicopter from 1924 and a flock of the same geese used in theoretical bird-drawn sleighs.
