About Cafe Gianna

Cafe Gianna's freshly constructed dishes reflect flavorful Old-World Italian recipes served morning, afternoon, and evening. Executive chef Dave Thomas melds seafood, veggies, and succulent carne into pastas, pizzas, and children's songs about lost meatballs and pairs globally inspired à la carte eats such as the popular sesame-encrusted ahi tuna with gourmet desserts. The courteous wait staff, food-laden plates in hand, navigates through a cozy dining room or a private event room that holds 20–40 guests. During warmer seasons, outdoor seating offers mealtime views of Coventry and its roving wildlife imported straight from Tuscany.

Everything we wanted to order they did not have, yet they never told us that prior to ordering. They were simple things like no filet, and no little necks or clams. It took over a hour for the food to come out, staff said chef was backed up an there were only 8 people in the restaurant. My experience from when cafe Gianna was BYOB To now is night and day. I bOught this groupon thinking it was the same restaurant and food, and I wish I never bought it and could get my money back for what I did pay for bad food and service.

The service was lacking order the came up in pieces(waiting on items). The waiter acted very scattered when the kitchen did not provide him with the appropriate items.I will confess it was only an hr into dinner on a Saturday. We were told the veggies with your dinner they are not ready. The people next to us left very unhappy as well. There where only 3 tables in the whole restaurant. We were told there was not enough Sangria for a pitcher only enough for 2 glasses??? Then the waiter said would you like another sangria and well la there was more. We did have the Groupon we ordered apps, dinner ect and gave full gratuity. We realize a restaurant may take a lose when offering these deals. It is a shame because the food was good when you got it piece by piece. If I where the owner I would take the staff for a field trip to a restaurant such as Marchetti's and show them how efficient there wait staff and kitchen are organized. Your food is just as good if not better. Unfortunately you are in RI where the restaurants are very good. This was not to be rude hopefully this was an off night. It just seemed a shame that the food was so good just so unorganized. Also, I don't think it was the wait staffs fault just trying to please use with no coordination between kitchen to table. It think that would make anyone nervous. What it boils down to is management.
