I had the Margherita Pizza with extra peperoni and the special sauce. It was good but the pizza could have use a little more cheese. The Coal Fire Salad was fresh and delicious.

nothing fancy here, but good pizza... Slightly pricy. We a large pizza (4 toppings), a salad, soda, and beer, with the groupon I had ( $20), our bill was still $35. More like a nice lunch place, tho I have been here for dinner as well. There is a separate bar area from the restaurant side ( haven't gone to ).

Great pizza! The wings were OK, not what I was expecting. More like baked wings with herbs.

Wings were dry & flavorless. Putting extra pizza onions & undercooked dough with them does not make them gourmet. Rosemary & thyme wings should have been AMAZING; neither flavor was present. Pizza was great, but took 30 minutes to get to our table.

From Our Editors

In the mines of northeastern Pennsylvania, workers heave loads of clean-burning anthracite coal and ship them to businesses such as Coal Fire, where chefs scoop the same coal into their 900-degree ovens to bake pizzas and wings. Before baking the pies, the chefs hand-toss the aged dough, then cover it with one of three original sauces and thick, house-made mozzarella cheese, as well as only the freshest produce and toppings such as sun-dried tomatoes and pepperoni. Outside the kitchen, servers slide across the polished floorboards, delivering platters of steaming pizzas and frosty drinks from the full bar. Voted Best Pizza for Best of Baltimore Magazine's Readers' Choice Poll 2016.
