The performance was wonderful but the venue had dedicated Groupon seats and was not clear in explaining which seats were available to us.

The ballet was not as advertised. It was listed as 'Romeo and Juliet', in fact, it was 2 short ballets, one called Chopiniana and Romeo and Juliet, but Chopiniana lasted 40 minutes and Romeo and Juliet lasted about 30 minutes. The orchestra wasn't there either, the music was just played through speakers. This was a big let-down, but it was so basic it was funny and my wife and I enjoyed talking and laughing about it all night. So if you're looking for a comedy show, enjoy! There was also no scenery really, it was truly an extremely basic, almost amateurish production, even though it was the national ballet of Russia. F' Putin...

This is not an assigned seat. There is a section reserved for Groupon ticket holders.Once you get there, you are directed to that section.Your seats may not end up being together.Get there early!!!The ushers were on their phone inside the hall while the ballet was on.The bar was right behind us with only a curtain dividing us.We could hear bottles being opened. The ballet itself was beautiful.

It was wonderful. It was my daughter's first Ballet. For kids it's a little slow in the love scene but once the costume change happened and the drama ensued my daughter was enthralled. She was so upset it was over and kept insisting she wanted more!

From Our Editors

Built in 1928, Detroit Music Hall Center for the Performing Arts dazzles patrons with an ornate art-deco façade and lush Spanish Renaissance interior. Elegant columns, glittering chandeliers, and vibrant geometric patterns create a palatial atmosphere in the lobby. The auditorium's intimately arranged velvet seats leave every viewer within 70 feet of the stage, eliminating the need for binoculars or drawn-out games of telephone describing the onstage action.
