About The Rock Golf Club & Resort

Located near Table Rock State Park, Bear Valley Golf Club nestles a community and golf course at the base of South Carolina's third-highest mountain. Trout streams wind through the 18-hole course, which challenges golfers of all skill levels with bending fairways and sloping, bentgrass greens. At the clubhouse, a full sports bar and restaurant let visitors relax before heading out to the links or taking a lesson from a golf professional at the driving range. Surrounded by hundreds of miles of hiking and horseback-riding trails, Bear Valley embeds its golf course within a landscape of towering trees and sweeping foothills, forcing golfers to distinguish between their own balls and rolling acorns.

The golf course was very wet in spots, but since we have had a very wet summer, it was expected. We managed to get our round completed with just a few sprinkles. The staff at the course was very friendly and appreciative of our business.

The course has been neglected and is in need of some maintenance. The so called "pro" needs to be more personable to the customers.

In my opinion the course was in crappy shape - water logged and not very well maintained - some of the staff on course was rude (younger kids working) one yelled as I was hitting a shot from the fairway and then again when I was putting- greens were very slow probably due to the water older course - not a waste of money but not worth the $25/person to play with the $5 surcharge for playing after the expiration date. There are better courses closer for the same amount of money.
