About Just for Women Expo

On Saturday, May 5, and Sunday, May 6, a sea of vendors and spa technicians transform the Lane Events Center into an escape for women of all ages. The Just for Women Expo's two days of sensory indulgence and shopping benefit visitors twice over, as 50% of ticket-sale profits are donated to organizations dedicated to women's health. This year, comedienne, stress-management expert, and author Leigh Anne Jasheway sets the expo's tone with a keynote speech and by filtering the audience's laughter through auto-tune, which then harmonizes with a number of personal-enrichment seminars. Winetasting and fashion shows punctuate hours of bargain hunting, and raffle tickets given to each guest offer a chance to win a Girlfriends Getaway for four.

Girls Night Out caps Saturday's events with four hours of catered spa pampering and revelry for those 21 and older. Gentlemen servers swing past makeover stations carrying trays of hors d'oeuvres, and 15-minute massages and bites from a chocolate buffet revive guests after belly-dance lessons. Guests to this event also take home goodies and enjoy two free drinks apiece to toast their superior toasting skills.

STAY TRUE to your advertising for "Women's Night Out". They said there would be RAFFLES every 15 minutes (there was only 1 from 8:00 on), chocolate BUFFET (I saw an occasional chocolate dipped cookie, which were quickly taken since it was the only chocolate to be seen, that was ALL- highly disappointed), cheese BUFFET (yes, there was cheese, cut up into TINY cubes, warm and hardening, no crackers), and only 1 person in our party of 5 was able to get into the free foot detox, massage, and henna tattoo. We were all on the waiting lists but we never seemed to be able to get in, and we checked back regularly every 15 minutes. With a group of 5 the most fun thing was the free light-up plastic rings that were given in our goodie bags of paper advertisements. The line for our 2 free drinks were so long we were only able to get one. So our free drink in the goodie bad was relieving to fill our ice cups. You think you could have two people making the drinks at once? We also were able to enjoy the photo booth at 11:00 when it closing, the man tending that was very nice, which made the night a little more worth the half price we got it for (I know its for charity, but we cannot imagine paying full price for any of it). We had a fun time, despite the evenings activities because we were with family and friends :) However we all left quite disappointed, and will not be coming back.
