Great food, fun, atmosphere! Food was beyond wonderful. We were a party of five and told Mario, the owner, to just bring us great food - surprise us. He did not disappoint! The delicious food just kept coming. Got the groupon coupon immediately, so it was certainly appreciated. You will not be disappointed. If you are going on a weekend, I would suggest reservations. Mario was wonderful and presented the two birthday boys with a bottle of wine. Best white frozen sangria I have ever had, they are a must try, as well as their "sampler" appetizer. Worth every penny! Go and enjoy! 🍾🎉🍰👍

Obscenely overpriced. Good food and service, as in not hate it but will not write home about it. Patio facing heavy traffic speedway, crammed interior. Food type and quality the same as a good food truck - steak, fried beans, salads. Prices the same as top of the world locations and celebrity chefs. A rip off, through and through, unless you think decent food deserves top dollar.

This has been the worst and priciest Cuban restaurant I've been too. The food was not good, the tables are wobbly and the prices are just overpriced. We are from New York and not even there it's this pricy. I wouldn't recommend this place to monkey and would never return again. If you want to eat great Cuban food for your money's worth go too Calle Ocho in Miami (Little Havana). Service was good.

Excellent service, food was delicious, friendly staff and the owner came to our table to welcome us for our first time in the restaurant and gave us a pitcher of sangria in him. We love it .

The alcoholic drinks that you are obligated to buy are way too expensive a 4 oz margarita $15 and you have to buy two drinks. The food is good. Service is good.

From Our Editors

It was in La Ceiba, Honduras, that Mario Flores first began associating food with family. His mother would cook for him and his siblings, and the family meals, which set the groundwork for good conversation, provided both a structure to daily life and a sense of comfort. He now hopes to emulate that same atmosphere at his own establishment, Mario's Catalina Restaurant, where he mans the kitchen.

His dishes harken back to old-world Cuba and Spain with appetizers of yucca, sides of fried plantains, and entrees of roast pork cooked in Jack Daniel's whiskey, which is a far more flavorful marinade than Jack Daniel's lukewarm water. His menu also includes "Mario's favorite:" a red snapper fillet breaded in green plantains and accompanied by lobster sauce and jumbo shrimp. Guests enjoy these dishes and a selection of wines and sangria inside the dining room, which, with its wall-to-wall paintings, softly lit lamps, shimmering chandeliers, and close tables, resembles a warm, cozy home.
