The scenic route hosts a timed 5K race and a more challenging half marathon. Winners from each age division win awards—such as gift certificates and tickets to local events—and, at the end of the race, all participants receive a high-five from their running sneakers.

The event was not well organized. My groupon was never checked. Therefore, my name was never included in the participants list and I never received a medal for taking part of the race.

This was both my mom's and my first half marathon. We were so excited and pumped and then the day of came and we could not have been more disappointed. Poorly planned, we did not get half the things that we were promised/that we're supposed to be included. There were no grab bags for us. We did not get medals. We were told medals would be mailed to is as they had a package lost coming from China, but it has been a month and still no medal, no email, nothing. There was supposed to be food and excitement, and it was basically just run and go home. We had heard good things about the previous two years for this event, but I don't know what happened his year. It was terrible.

I did not receive a medal because they ran out for the 1/2 marathoners. This was disappointing!
