Decent Ariel yoga class, HORRIBLE customer service, trying to put this as short and sweet as possible.
I had some co-workers and I wanted to try out Ariel Yoga, we decided on Elements 3 Yoga, the Basics class was booked so we decided to try a Private class, I noticed there was a groupon.
I was told Groupon’s do not cover private classes because the Private class has to be w/ 1 form of payment for all 4 of us. We went to the private class and it turned out to NOT be private at all, seeing as the instructor allowed two random people join the class with us as well. That was a bit discouraging.
THE NEXT DAY I purchased the groupon, I Emailed to set up to have this groupon redeemed so I could register for the level 1 class before it filled up. She redeemed the groupon, I registered for my first class using the groupon, and then a couple hours later received an email stating I could not use the groupon! “I'm so sorry but groupon’s are only for brand new students who have never been to elements3 before” the “fine print” on the groupon DOES NOT state that! It states “Not valid for current aerial yoga students” this was a misunderstanding because I did NOT consider myself a current student since I had only been ONCE!
I stated my dissatisfaction I could not use the Groupon BEFORE my private class and I could not use my Groupon AFTER my private class?!?!? There was a bit of back and forth. Three choices I Suggested, 1) refund me for my portion of the “private class” (that wasn’t even really private) and use it as my 1st groupon class, 2) Let me just use the groupon since you have ALREADY REDEEMED it, which was YOUR EMPLOYEES MISTAKE! Or 3) Refund my money.
I expected by this point they would let me know that’s not how they usually run their business but due to the misunderstanding they could let it slide. Then the “MANAGER” called me “to work something out to make everyone happy”, I called back it went STRAIGHT to voicemail and then immediately hung up on me. I COULD NOT LEAVE A VOICEMAIL!?!?
They pushed me 4x to upgrade to their $75 (5) class package which was the same I was trying to get on Groupon but for $30 more. They even went so far as to manipulate my account to make it seem as if the Groupon hadn’t caused an issue.
"We do have that new student special 5 classes for $75"
“The 5 pack for $75 is still a great deal"
"Either the 5 pack for $75 or a single drop in aerial class which is $25"
"You can use the $44 credit towards the New Student 5-Pack we offer if you still would like"
So once again I asked for my money back. I get this as a response “As for getting your money back from groupon, I don't know what to do about this exactly, as we've never encounter this situation before.” So they didn’t know how to refund someone’s credit card?
The manager was out of the country and emailed me to see if I was satisfied with the answers I was getting from her Employee, I stated my concerns with the manager. And didn’t hear anything back until a week later after my “free” class.
I went to my “Free” class, the employee asked me at that point if I knew what I wanted to do with my $44 I told her I was waiting to hear from the manager and we left it at that. When the manager FINALLY writes me back 3 days after my “free class” “I think everything is worked out now?” UM NO! NOT AT ALL! She did NOT respond to my concerns at all! I had stated the three options above and she did not even address them. She wanted to ignore the situation like it never even happened!
I have used a groupon after the first trial class MULTIPLE times before, I was unaware of anyone running their business like this! I was sick of their Poor Customer service at this point. I feel like they use groupon to make it look like they are offering a good deal and then use every reason possible to get people to pay more. I feel like they scammed me.
Their clients actually walk into my place of employment QUITE OFTEN and I will be sharing my experience with every single one of them, absolutely horrible!
Then on top of that, the 2 classes I actually did attend, their silks are SO CLOSE together I was constantly worrying about if I was going to hit the person in front or in back of me and there was NO time to actually work out and relax!
