Bikram Yoga Hermosa Beach, Hermosa Beach

I love yoga. I have taken hot yoga before and I loved it. Wooden floors is what I'm used to. But this place was nasty! Carpet wet all the time and room smelled of mold. I had to walk out and stop going . It was absolutely disgusting.

Carpet is always wet, people from previous classes don't leave until the next class starts so it is hard to set up. I found the instructor (male can't remember his name) very surly. Not at all like other yogis I have ever seen.

Pros - People there are passionate about their practice. Both students and instructors seem nice and competent. Cons - Just the nature of Bikram - its really, really hot and humid, to the point where they are used to people blacking out and have a procedure to follow so they can continue the class. Also, Bikram is not particularly accepting of individual needs - they want you to do everything exactly their way. I personally prefer to the strain on my body to be in my muscles, the workout at Bikram is easy on muscles but very tough on heat tolerance.

Disgusting studio. Avoid at all costs. Horrid odor in the studio defies description. Not the best instructors. I wanted to like Bikram HB, but I can not even remotely say that was the case. Quite the opposite. I am not new to Bikram yoga so I know what to expect. Still, I was not prepared for how terrible this Bikram experience was. After 2 classes I could not face returning, wrote a Yelp review of my negative experience and evidentally they don't give a hoot.
