About Manu Kai Catamaran
In the Hawaiian language, "manu kai" translates to "sea bird." The USCG-certified Manu Kai catamaran certainly lives up to that billing: it whisks passengers off on seven distinct sailing adventures, including snorkeling in Turtle Canyon, Friday-night fireworks cruises, and sea-life tours highlighted by cameos from dolphins and other creatures. Read on to learn more about the Manu Kai:
- Year built: 1986
- Size: 43 feet long, 22 feet wide
- Its favorite pre-sail meal: peanut butter and jelly sandwich
- Extras: two bathrooms, a full-service bar, a surround-sound system, and custom lounging nets
- Capacity: It can accommodate up to 49 people.
- Location: on Waikiki Beach between the Moana Surfrider and Royal Hawaiian, Waikiki's two oldest hotels

I have been to Oahu 38 times and stayed at the Outrigger on the Beach every time which is almost right across from the Manu Kai Catamaran. I have been on the Manu Kai at least 20 times before. It has always been $25 per person. I purchased this Groupon because I received another 20% off. There is a new owner of the Manu Kai since Dec.1st 2015. He is a CROOK!!! The prices are a total lie. You can only use this Groupon for 2 sailings. 12 pm and 1:30 pm. The hottest times of the day. The drinks are $2- $7. They will add 9% to your drink tab if you use a credit card. The Groupon says it is half price... if you walk up to any of the guys working for the catamaran, they will tell you its $30. Where is $60 from??? Well, I called the owner from Rocky's phone and he said it is the price on the internet and the $30 price is the discounted beach price which everyone who walks by gets.(SO...he is really scamming everyone who buys this catamaran ride on his site.) So... the big Groupon deal you are all getting is $5 off for only 2 sails a day. Every other catamaran on the entire beach is $25 per person a sail off any one except the sunset cruise. Hence.... Manu Kai is never full unless it is the sunset cruise. It used to be one of the busiest catamaran's on the beach. The owner was SUPER rude to me and told me I have never been on this catamaran and I don't know what I am talking about. Read reviews on the internet and talk to the locals. WOW, please don't buy this Groupon. Buy the Maitai, it was amazing!! It is 1 1/2 hours long for $20 per person on Groupon and the people are SUPER nice. All the drinks were $2. Now, that's a Groupon deal that is worth purchasing. (But thanks for giving us a private catamaran ride because there were no other people on the boat!!)

The captain went out of his way and spent extra time, so we could see whales, dolphins up close, and a beautiful sunset. We loved it!

The crew was great and we had a good time!!! Would like to have gone faster and further out so that maybe we could have seen a whale but it was good.
