While Snowflake Cafe and Bakery brims with the smell of cooking crepes, brewing Siphon coffee, and baking tiramisu, it's the signature dessert that draws in the crowds. Called "snowflakes," the frosty scoops are a blend of shaved ice and ice cream and come in inventive flavors such as green tea, taro, and salted caramel. The staff outfits these treats with fresh fruit, tapioca, flavored condensed milk, or swirls of chocolate to create custom desserts.
Within a two-story, loft-like space permeated with complimentary WiFi, the snowflakes serve as a treat on their own or a dessert that complements daily made club sandwiches. In the mid-afternoon, teatime takes over the eatery, featuring favorites such as chocolate fondue.
