The service was very good and took care of our every wish. The Grouper and Pork Schnitzel had real thick breading and was dry. ( over cooked ) The price was real high for entrees. $18.95 for Grouper and $16.95 for the Pork. They had a moderate crowd for the 6:00pm on a Saturday night. I would say that they need a new cook with better attention on how the food taste! Sorry for the bad review but I would not come back.

This was one of our favorite places to dine. We frequent the Dolphin Restaurant on a regular basis. WHAT IN THE WORLD HAPPENED TO THIS PLACE? The baby back ribs were burnt and most of it was uneatable, the fish was so small and cold, but somewhat tasty. After several requests for bread and when we finally got it, the bread was so burnt on the top that we could not eat it. The shrimp that we paid $2.00 a piece for had the consistency of rubber. AND, the SOUP, was not eatable AT ALL. There was soooo much salt in the soup, it would have made us sick. The Service and Value and just the overall meal was such a disappointment. We do not have any plans to go back there anytime soon.

Delicious! If you want the Happy Hour drinks, go to the lounge first before getting a table.

First off my soda was flat--thought not a big deal--then the croutons for on my salad were not crunchy-- they were soft and chewy like they were stale. Then when they brought my meal- breaded shrimp- there was a black hair on one of the shrimp.

The grouper was good. Girlfriend appreciated the chef coming out and talking to the customers. Talking to the chef he was quite knowledgeable about grouper and the challenges of making sure it is grouper (the Times has done an extensive article about grouper substitutions).

From Our Editors

Konstadino "Gus" Tsilionis started his first tavern in his native Greece. When he founded his second restaurant, this time in the United States, he picked a similarly coastal location: the Tampa Bay Area. Now owned and managed by son Tom Tsilionis, The Blue Dolphin Restaurant features an indoor pond outfitted with a footbridge and a leaping dolphin. Although not quite on the same scale of the Aegean Sea or the Gulf of Mexico, it's perfect for throwing coins into while wishing they would bounce back out as larger coins.

The coastal theme extends to the kitchen's offerings, too. The culinary team whips up plenty of fresh seafood, from crab-stuffed tilapia fillets to Maine lobster sautéed in cognac. Classic Italian and American dishes, like chicken pesto fettuccine, dijon-mustard-rubbed prime rib, and tender barbecue ribs, round out the menu, as does a soup and salad bar stocked with over 30 types of fixings. To wash it all down, diners can sip premium cocktails like the house long island iced tea—which, thanks to a splash of Blue Curaçao, is ocean-blue.
