The groupon offer said they have sushi, mediterranean cuisine, and fresh baked pastries and goods, which they absolutely do not. There were about 3 items on the menu. Hummus, Beef skewers, and greek salad with the option to add grilled chicken. We tried all three items. Hummus tasted okay but was very runny. Beef skewers tasted like hamburger meet on a stick. Greek salad wasn't even the size of normal house salad, and they were out of grilled chicken. My boyfriend got a beer, and I got a bottled soft drink. Our total was about $33 dollars including our $2 tip. (You have to leave tip before the meal if you pay with a card and you aren't even waited on at your seat. You order at the counter). We had a groupon for $25. I would NEVER eat there again. It wasn't worth $25 and certainly not $33. Not to mention the owner was not very friendly at all. This place will not be in business long.

We thought it was going to be a restaurant...we were disappointed when it was a coffee shop/pub. We left hungry and went to another restaurant after going to 11 Cafe.

This cafe seemed primarily a breakfast/lunch cafe. When I bought the groupon, I assumed there would be some wine for me, while my husband drank the beer, as I don't care for it. I like the concept, the location, and the staff were great. I would expand on the selection.

The one girl working there by herself did her best to try to accommodate patrons and was pleasant. The owners should have been prepared for increased traffic with the Groupon offering. We had drinks and Grilled Halloumi Cheese sandwiches. The cheese was barely warm inside the pocket of half of a pita. There was nothing else with it... just a salad size plate with the half-pocket pita with some cheese...no pickle, chips or garnish for about $7. I had ordered a hot coffee drink which was served well after the sandwich and was barely tepid. The balance of our Groupon was used to buy some chocolates. They had been in a refrigerated case and were then served on a plate fresh from a dishwasher. The plate was warm and melting the bottom of the chocolates we wanted to take with us. I actually felt bad for the young lady working. There was no way one person could prepare food, make drinks, take orders, take payments, etc, in a timely manner from more than a dozen people inside. Also, many people walked in and walked out because the space is not set up well to accommodate many people. It is somewhat of a hodgepodge decor with a restaurant serving nothing actually made there other than coffee drinks. The final source of amusement was when the employee left the business completely unattended, full of patrons, to run across the street to the bar to borrow a wine opener to open a bottle that I believe a group of four had brought in with them. It was quite bizarre.

The bread types (cinnamon raisin bagels, for example) did not go well with the types of cheese you served. The bread was nothing special and neither was the cheddar cheese.

From Our Editors

Using locally sourced meats, produce, and baked goods, the chefs at 11 Cafe cultivate a selection of artisanal drinks, desserts, and Mediterranean fare that is a testament to Knoxville’s culinary chops. The café’s baristas combine The Golden Roast coffee beans with milk from the nearby Cruze Farm on a menu of lattes and espressos that beg in sweet, overcaffeinated voices to be paired with treats from local sweetshops such as Sugar Buzz Bakers, The South's Finest Chocolate Factory, Magpies Cakes, and Hot Bagel Co. The café’s bar houses a large selection of beers on draft and in bottles ready to overflow mugs as guests munch on Mediterranean favorites such as shawarma sandwiches, cheese boards, and excerpts of Plato’s Republic written on a pita.
