Part diner, part cafeteria, Neighborhood Cafe is a throwback to the days of the downtown coffee shop. Oh, they serve a great lunch and dinner menu, too (with specials), but breakfast is my favorite and it's served all day. Mountains of food for the price! Great hash browns, biscuits and gravy and sausage patties (I much prefer patties to links).
Come in and you have your choice of a booth or a long table, which you'll probably be sharing with other groups. Don't worry, their your neighbors! Get to know them! Breakfast serving starts with complimentary cinnamon rolls, and it gets better from there.
Like I said, breakfast is great, but so is the rest of their menu. Chicken, roast beef and gravy, and specials like all-you-can-eat tacos. You'll see city council members and retirees, couples and families with kids. Your neighborhood - get it? Oh, and the pies are simply wonderful!
I just noticed all the other questions - I'll do my best. I'm not vegan or gluten free, so I'm not sure about those offerings, or about kosher. My guess is no, but I have some food allergies and I'm used to adaptive behavior. There is parking in downtown Lee's Summit, including a parking lot across the street and behind the cafe. Atmosphere is (very) casual, probably not suitable for a business meeting (unless you want to conduct your meeting in public).
Suffice it to say that I've never had a bad meal here, and the people are extremely nice and accommodating. I admit that the restrooms are less than luxurious. If you're worried about a dishwasher spot on your glass, or if you prefer a maitre d', then this is probably not your sweetspot. If you're looking for great home cooking at a good price, and are willing to accept unpretentious surroundings, Neighborhood Cafe is a treasure.
