During his career as a figure skating athlete, Luiz Taifas competed in over 50 countries, experiencing ice facilities that seated thousands and served world-class athletes, recreational skaters, and events of all kinds. The globally-recognized figure is the force behind ION International Training Center—when he recognized the demand for an Olympic-level facility in the area, he set to work creating his vision for ION: a year-round multi-rink indoor ice rink and arena where ice skaters of every color and caliber could perfect their craft, whether they play hockey or figure skate. The stadium-sized arena can seat 5,500 people, while the full-service gym off the ice helps skaters stretch, tone, and strengthen muscle they'll need for games and routines.
